HOW TO SET UP A WEBSITE

In order to start a website, you need a “host”.  This is simply someone who will rent you a blank space to put up your website.

Check out what the "host" offers.  You should get the blank space for your website, have your choice of domain names (for instance, mine is www.creativeetee.com), and you should get e-mail addresses (mine is val@creativeetee.com).

They also have web design tools if you would like to put up your own page.  If you prefer, I charge $40 to set up a single page with a few pictures and contact information including your e-mail address.  If you would like a 4 page site, with credentials, links, photos, and contact info, that charge would be $140.

If you would like to see some of the other sites I have designed click on one of these:

Southern Hills Kennels

Groom N Zoom

So the first thing you need to do is decide on a domain name for your website.  It can be your name, your business, or anything you want.  I would suggest that you have at least one backup however, because if that name is registered anywhere on the internet, you cannot have it.

You also need a password so you can access your account.  The best passwords are at least 6 characters long and consist of letters and at least one number.  Do not use symbols such as * or &.

Last but not least, you need to pay the "host".  They usually want a credit card, so that they can charge you monthly.

Contact me if I can be of assistance.

Sincerely,

Val
